I
worked closely with the scenic designer
Peter
J. Davison to interpret his models
and sketches for the creation of CAD ground plans, sections, elevations and
details for a stage production of Disney's
Aladdin.
I successfully provided computer translation services between the three CAD
programs - AutoCAD, Microstation and Vector Works- used by various parties.
Aladdin
is currently running in Los Angeles.
With
the scenic and architectural designer
Mark Fisher
I
developed concepts for the Muse
Ship
project, a floating entertainment, culture, and education experience that
will dock in various ports around the world. Various inflatable and tensile
fabric structure enclosures for the top deck performance arena were explored.
Speed of erection, resistance to extreme weather , the development of changeable
opaque to translucent fabrics and the utilisation of the structural elements
for support of lighting and sound equipment were paramount in the design process.
Studies were carried out in physical models,
sketches and 3D CAD drawings.
Prior
to relocating to London I built sets for the WPA
Theatre in New York. I also produced
hand drawn technical drawings for the
Wooster Group for one of their
touring production.
